Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts-Colossians 3:15

Jesus tells us. You live in a world that is constantly changing. Nothing-and no one-every stays the same. The weather changes, you grow taller, your friendships change, your relationship with your parents change, people move away, interests change, and on and on.

Not only does this world change, but it is a world filled with sin. The people around you are going to make mistakes. Your feelings will get hurt. You are going to mess up. If you count on this world, or the people in it, to make you happy and give you peace, sooner or later you will be disappointed. True never, ending Peace can come from only Me.

Jesus concludes. Ask Me to fill your heart with My Love and Peace. I will never disappoint you.

Colossians 3:15; Colossians 1:27

Footnotes Colossians 3:15 The word translated “rule” comes from the language of athletics: Paul tells us to let Christ’s peace be an umpire or referee in our hearts. Our hearts are the center of conflict because there, our feelings and desires clash—our fears and hopes, distrust and trust, jealousy and love. How can we deal with these types of conflicts and live as God wants? Paul explains that we must resolve conflicting issues by using the rule of peace. Which choice will promote peace in our souls and in our churches? (For more on the peace of Christ, see Philippians 4:7.)

Passage Colossians 1:27 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Footnotes Colossians 1:27 The false teachers in the Colossian church believed that spiritual perfection was a secret and hidden plan that only a few privileged people could discover. This secret plan was meant to be exclusive for an elite group. Paul said that he was proclaiming the entire message of God, not just a part of the plan. He also called God’s plan a “mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations,” not in the sense that only a few would understand it, but because it had been hidden until Christ came. Through Christ it was made open to all. God’s secret plan is “Christ in you, the hope of glory”; God planned to have his Son, Jesus Christ, live in the hearts of all who believe in him—even Gentiles like the Colossians. Do you know Christ? He is not hidden if you will come to him. Have you experienced his liberating love? Don’t keep it a secret—share it with others.

THE WORLD…we see history

RAPE OF A WOMAN (October 16th 2021) IN A CROWDED PHILADELPHIA TRAIN,
NO ONE DID ANYTHING TO REPORT THE HORRENDEOUS CRIMINAL ACT

UPPER DARBY, Pa. — A woman riding a crowded Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority train was raped on Wednesday night, and bystanders witnessing the attack neither intervened nor contacted authorities, police said. According to Delaware County authorities, the woman reported that she was raped on the inbound elevated line near 69th Street in Upper Darby at around 11 p.m., and 35-year-old Fishton Ngoy has been arrested on multiple charges related to the attack, KYW-TV reported. Ngoy’s arrest occurred at the 69th Street transportation center after a transit authority employee noticed the attack taking place and alerted authorities, WCAU reported. According to KYW-TV, a transit authority patrolman found the suspect partially clothed on the train near the victim and “took action.” Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department confirmed to WCAU that the assault was captured on surveillance video, and he said that he was shocked after the footage revealed that other riders on the crowded train at the time of the attack did nothing to stop it. “It’s disturbing that there were definitely people on the El, and no one did anything to intervene or help this woman,” Bernhardt told the TV station, referring to the Market-Frankford Elevated Line that runs between Upper Darby and Frankford in Lower Northeast Philadelphia.

The WORD…we see Jesus, His Story!

The victim, who was treated at an area hospital following the attack, did not know her assailant, Bernhardt confirmed to both TV stations. “Were they watching? I don’t know,” he told KYW-TV, noting that investigators are still poring over the video but that “a lot of people” who “should’ve intervened” were in a position to do so. “Somebody should’ve done something. It speaks to where we are in society. There were other people on the train who witnessed this horrific act, and it may have been stopped sooner if a rider called 911. SEPTA, urges anyone who observes a crime being committed or any dangerous situation occurring to report it.”
In addition to rape, Ngoy has been charged with aggravated indecent assault and related counts, WCAU reported, citing Delaware County court records.
