February 13th – I GIVE YOU PEACE

Jesus said, “Peace be with you!” John 20:21

Jesus tells us… I give you Peace! These are the words I have been saying to My followers ever since I rose from the grave. I died like a criminal on the cross, but I did it for you. With My blood, I was able to purchase Peace for you. I wore a crown of thorns so that I could give you a crown of Peace. How do you get My Peace? It is so simple. Find a quiet place, sit for a moment, think about Me, and thank Me for loving you so much. When you do this, I will come and sit beside you.

Jesus concludes… I will wrap you up in My Peace like a warm blanket. This will keep your heart close to Mine.

John 20:21; John 20:19; John 14:27

Footnotes John 20:21 Jesus again identified himself with his Father. He told the disciples by whose authority he did his work. Then he passed the job to his disciples of spreading the gospel of salvation around the world. Whatever God has asked you to do, remember that (1) your authority comes from God, and (2) Jesus has demonstrated by words and actions how to accomplish the job he has given you. As the Father sent Jesus, Jesus sends his followers-including you.

Passage John 20:19 19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

Footnotes John 20:18 Mary didn’t recognize Jesus at first. Her grief had blinded her. She couldn’t see him because she didn’t expect to see him. Then he spoke her name, and immediately she recognized him. Imagine the love that flooded her heart when she heard her Savior saying her name. Jesus is near you, and he is calling your name. Can you, like Mary, regard him as your Lord?

Passage John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.

Footnotes John 14:27 The Holy Spirit’s work brings deep and lasting peace to our hearts and minds. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, Jesus’ peace gives us confident assurance in any circumstance. With his peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future. Sin, fear, uncertainty, doubt, and despair are at war within us, but the peace of God restrains these hostile forces and offers comfort in place of conflict. Jesus says he will give us that peace if we are willing to accept it from him. When you feel the stress of life, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Jesus’ peace (see Philippians 4:6-7 for more on experiencing God’s peace)

THE WORLD…we see history

Jonathan Cahn points to the Generation that Persecutes the People of God.

Shalom, to you my Friend and Co-Minister in the Great Commission…

  • A recent poll, regarding sexual identity, conducted by the Gallup organization resulted in a shocking conclusion. The poll concerned sexual identity. The poll found that of those born before the baby boomers (before 1946) the percentage identifying as LGBT or non-heterosexual was 1.3% or just a little more than one in a hundred people. Among those born in the baby boomer generation (1946-1964), the number was 2%. Among those born of Generation X (1965-1980), the number went up to 3.8%. Among millennials (1981-1996), the number rose to 9.1%. And among the most recent generation, Generation Z, those born from 1997 to 2002, the number skyrocketed to 15.

The WORD…we see Jesus, His Story!

And it reveals something else. Human nature, or human biology, doesn’t change in any such dramatic way by natural means. What it means is that the increasing onslaught of indoctrination that bombards each new generation is working. It’s affecting, changing, and transforming the beliefs, values, behavior, identities, and sexuality of our children and thus of each generation. It is no accident that the increase in LGBT identification parallels the increase in LGBT indoctrination. The fact that the generation most exposed to the indoctrination is the same that most identifies this way should actually come as no surprise. The fact that the greatest increase in this identification is that of bisexuality, which is linked to sexual fluidity rather than hardened identity also affirms this fact.

What will happen to a generation that increasingly identifies with a morality at war with God? It will be a generation that matches the generation described in Biblical prophecy concerning the end times – a generation that persecutes the people of God.

Your brother and co-laborer
in His love and service, Jonathan

As followers of Jesus an appropriate conclusion might be that we follow our master Whom 2,000 years ago came not to judge, but rather He Leads any member of the LGBT community, and all other communities to Himself, as He did not cast the first stone to anyone in this world, nor did he involve Himself in any political discussion.
