May 22nd – Don’t Get Stuck

Apr 28, 2022 | Bible Study 2022

Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me – John 14:6 (New Jerusalem Bible)

Jesus states: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. But sometimes it can be hard for you to understand My way of doing things in this life. It’s easy to get your mind stuck on your own idea of how things should go. Just don’t get stuck on your idea that you forget to look for My way.
When things are not going your way, don’t panic – accept the situation. Feeling sorry for yourself can easily spill over into feelings of resentment and anger. That can cause you to push away from Me. Remember that I use all things to work together for good in your life – even the things you wish were different. So, accept your situation, and then look around you for what I am doing.

Jesus concludes: Keep your eyes on Me – no matter what is happening around you. When you keep Me in the center of your thinking, I help you make good choices.

John 14:6; 1Peter 5:5-6; Romans 8:28 Study Notes

Footnotes John 14:6 Jesus’ ascension to the Father was not just an individual achievement, but opened for all of us a way to our House, in God. And there are many mansions, not one mansion for everybody, but a place for each one.
Knowing this is our goal, we should walk towards the definitive communion. “I am the way,” says Jesus. He became human so that we might see the Father in Him. He followed His way so that meditating on His actions we would progress towards the truth. With the time, we will discover the Lord and understand that His way is ours. Passing through the cross and death, we will achieve our own truth and arrive at life.

Passage 1Peter 5:5-6 5In the same way, younger people, be subject to the elders. Humility towards one another must be the garment you all wear constantly, because God opposes the proud but accords his favor to the humble. 6Bow down, then, before the power of God now, so that he may raise you up in due time.

Footnotes 1Peter 5:5-6 Humility is a condition for the bestowal of divine benevolence. God takes sides against the proud but grants grace to the humble.

Passage Romans 8:28 We are well aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been called in accordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good.

Footnotes Romans 8:28 The providence and mercy of the Father covers all the events of our lives. Nothing happens in the world, in our family, in our lives merely by chance or because it was so destined.
God is faithful to His plan of salvation which embraces those who love God and who are called. These are all Christians who love God and who by possessing the Holy Spirit through Christ are qualified as those who are called. And they love God because they have answered a call.

THE WORLD…we see history

JOHN JAY; THE FIRST CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE US SUPREME COURT, IN 1789
HE SAID, “THE BIBLE IS THE BEST OF ALL BOOKS, FOR IT IS THE WORD
OF GOD AND TEACHES US THE WAY TO BE HAPPY IN THIS WORLD AND THE NEXT

In 1789, after Jay declined George Washington’s offer of the position of Secretary of State, the president offered him the new opportunity of becoming Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, which Jay accepted. He was unanimously confirmed on September 26, 1789 and remained on the bench until 1795.

The WORD…we see Jesus, His Story!

It is the Bible that made America. Not every Founding Father was a Christian, a Bible-believer, or a paragon of virtue. Not every president has honored the Bible. Not every leader has appreciated its influence. Some of the Founding Fathers—Thomas Jefferson, Ethan Allen, Thomas Paine—were disciples of Enlightenment Rationalism. But even they were intimately acquainted with the contents of the Bible. They vigorously studied Scripture and respected its ethical teachings.
I am not commending all those whose stories I tell in these pages, but I am commending the book they held in their hands. Trying to explain American history without its Bible is like trying to understand the human body without its bloodstream. Had there been no Bible, there would be no America as we know it. The nation would not have been born as it was.

The Bible is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path; when it burns low, our culture grows dark. The best way to keep America strong is to know her history, to honor her roots, to preserve her legacy, and to cherish the eternal God who, in His providence, placed this continent between two shimmering seas, and who, in His goodness, provided a Book that became her moral and intellectual foundation: the Holy Bible.
